Parent Survey

In 2021-2022, as far as possible we tried to return the school to ‘normal’ after two years of disruptions due to the Covid pandemic. Parent feedback helps us to understand what we have been doing well and more importantly, to identify what we can do to make Heber even better for the children. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey; we're very appreciative.

Satisfaction

Overall, 96% of respondents are ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with Heber School. 71.3% are ‘very satisfied’ (the highest rating) up from 57% the year before. Overall satisfaction with the school has increased by 4 percentage points from 2018 when 92% of respondents were ‘satisfied’ or very ‘satisfied’.

Happiness

97% of respondents ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ that their child is happy at Heber School. 72.5% strongly agree with this statement (up from 62% the year before). 3% of parents were neutral about this and none ‘disagreed’ or ‘strongly disagreed’ that their child was unhappy.

Safety

98% of respondents ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ that their child feels safe at Heber School. This was up from 94% the year before.

Creative and Broad Curriculum

94% of parents and carers ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ that Heber provides a creative curriculum and 96% ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ that it provides a broad curriculum.

Progress

93% of respondents ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ that their child makes good progress at Heber School. This figure has picked up from a dip last year when it was 88% (in 2018 it was 92%). This movement may reflect the effect of the pandemic and school closure on parents’ perceptions of how their child is progressing.

Approachable

95% thought the school was approachable when they needed to discuss something (65% strongly agree and 30% agree). The percentage of parents who ‘strongly agree’ that the school is approachable has increased from 40% the year before). Again this might reflect the fact that parents and carers now have more opportunities to interact with teachers at the beginning and end of the day as school has lifted Covid measures around pick up and drop off.

Recommended

95% of respondents agree that they would recommend Heber School to another parent. 77% respondents ‘strongly agree’ with this statement (up from 60% the year before).
