Head's Welcome
Welcome to our website and thank you for taking the time to find out more about our school...
Heber Primary School is a beautiful Victorian building in the heart of East Dulwich. Situated in a quiet residential road, we are walking distance to a range of open green spaces that we use on a regular basis. We are also very close to transport links, enabling us to utilise everything that London has to offer.
We are a happy, creative and high performing school where all children belong and all achieve. Visitors always comment on the calm, purposeful atmosphere at Heber. Our children are eager to learn and their behaviour and attitudes clearly reflect our three key values of thoughtfulness, resilience and responsibility. Sitting alongside our commitment to pupil welfare is a constant and relentless focus on the progress of each and every child in the school. We consider ourselves a family. We foster strong relationships between pupils and staff and our children create long-lasting relationships with their peers.
We provide a stimulating, creative and challenging curriculum for each and every one of our pupils. We are extremely proud of the varied and meaningful learning opportunities that we provide across the curriculum and as extra-curricular activities. Our pupils have opportunities to learn through a wide range of educational visits, experiences and events, including residential trips. We teach an immersive and engaging topic based curriculum and provide lots of opportunities for active learning. Our staff have a shared drive to constantly review, improve and enrich our curriculum to ensure learning is relevant and exciting for all pupils.
Our highly experienced and stable staff inspire our children with a life-long love of learning. They provide pupils with appropriate academic challenges and an excellent breadth and quality of education beyond the core subjects. We employ specialist teachers for Music, Art and PE. We have a dedicated Art Room and Music Hall. Exhibitions, concerts and sports tournaments are a regular feature of school life.
Parents and families are integral to the life of the school. There are lots of opportunities for families to be involved in school life. Our Parent and Friends Committee (PAF) are hugely supportive of the school and organise a wide range of exciting events that take place throughout the year.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our family.
If you would like to arrange a visit, we’d be delighted to show you around. Please contact our school office to find a suitable time.
